    The Team

Your contact persons in the Welcome Center have all lived abroad for and offer their counselling and information in German, English, French, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. They obtained diverse intercultural competences through their studies and work experiences. During counseling of international skilled workers and small and medium sized companies they can rely on personal experiences and deliver individually relevant advice.

The team members would like to shortly introduce themselves:

    Julia Heinnickel

After completing my training as a state-approved European secretary, I was drawn to the South for an internship abroad. I spent half a year in Madrid as an intern at the German Chamber of Commerce for Spain. Then I chose to study International Cultural and Business Studies in the bavarian city of Passau to further develop my intercultural skills. Following an internship in spring 2016, during which I was very impressed by the work of the Welcome Center, I became part of the team in November 2017 and since then I am pleased to support international skilled workers when they arrive in the region.

    Marlene Neumann

During my master studies in ‘International Migration and Social Cohesion’ at the Universities of Amsterdam, Deusto (Bilbao) and Osnabrück I learned about migration and integration. After my studies, I analyzed the role of migration in the local care sector. Since July 2015 I am a member of the Welcome Center Heilbronn-Franken team and I am glad to work in counselling and the organization of interesting events and meetings of the Welcome Partner Heilbronn-Franken program.

    Sandra Villaverde Santos

I was born in Spain and I have studied at different international universities. As a foreign skilled employee in Germany and in other countries, i have gathered different experiences in subjects such as education, work and migration. That is why some situations while counseling mirror my own experience. My degree in English linguistics, Spanish and Italian at Mainz University has helped me to know and understand the higher education system in Germany. Language is my greatest strength when interacting with people. I really enjoy helping others to overcome their language barriers. Because of my familial situation, I know different support services for children in Germany.

    Elena Wormer

I advanced my knowledge in intercultural communication, sociology and international politics during my master studies in 'European Studies' at the University of Passau. My master thesis on integration policy enabled me to deal with the subject of migration in further depth. I also spent several times abroad. I was one year in France for an European Voluntary Service in the cultural sector and I studied for one semester in the Spanish city of Malaga as well as one semester in the US in Corvallis. Now I am looking forward to implementing exciting projects in my home region with the Welcome Center Heilbronn-Franken.
